Mommy Time
The older two kids have begun the school year in public school. Now AJ and Mommy have time just for them every morning! Today we played playdough on the kitchen floor. He asked to go to the grocery store and was a great helper picking out plums and apples. He has a lot of fun but he is very excited when Nina comes home at lunch time!

funny things AJ says
"I do it all my byself"
"mom, can you care for me?" "care-for" means "carry"
"Can you care for me in the kitchen?"
Me: AJ can I have a turn?
AJ: Ummmmm, 2 minutes!

33 months
I can't believe its been this long, but AJ will be turning 3 in a very short 3 months!
Weight: about 35 pounds
Height: average
Potty Training: still in diapers
Verbal skills: average to better than average! He enunciates a lot of things really well!
AJ learned all the letters in the alphabet by watching the older kids play Starfall games every night before bed. A little over a year ago I realized how good he was and quizzed him while in the bath tub. I now have video proof that he knew every letter before he was 2, and they were way out of order! Amazing!
AJ adores his older siblings but currently he is pretty tight with Nina. AJ and Will share a room and a bunk bed (twin over full, AJ on the full size) and AJ also still takes a nap every day that we're home.
His favorite foods are: cold hot dogs, corn dogs, plain cheeseburgers, apples, rice, macaroni & cheese, broccoli and frozen peas in ramen noodles.
He is a great little traveller and can make the drive across the state with only a small nap. He has had 3 different occasions in the last 6 months to be without me - only Daddy or at Grandma & Grandpa's for a week or more, and each time he has done great. He has always been with the older kids and I know that makes a big difference.
He looks so much like Will at the same age I get their names mixed up a lot! And AJ is wearing many of Will's old clothes to add to the visual mix up...
AJ enjoys going potty on the toilet before bath & often at the gym (very cool tiny toilets in the child care area) so I thought I would try a pull-up. But he didn't like the design on the front and specifically asked me for his Zebra Diapers. He is a bit picky about what he wears, he prefers blue & green and of course it must be soft. He is very much in the thick of "I do it myself!!"
He is riding Will's old bicycle with training wheels and doing amazingly well! He needed a new helmet right away though - how come both boys have such wide round heads so young?? He's wearing one rated for 5 years on up right now... He loves being able to "keep up" with the big kids when they ride down the street now. Yes, he can pedal! But he can't brake.
His favorite shows: Yo Gabba Gabba (I hate it), Little Einsteins, Wonder Pets, Veggie Tales (if its new), Word World (PBS) and Dinosaur Train (more PBS).
AJ's bedtime is 8 pm if he has a nap, 6:30 or 7 on days he has no nap.
