Time for another update!
AJ now has 8 teeth! He has the same 4 across the top, 2 on the bottom, but recently added 2 molars on the top jaw.
He is walking, running and climbing so well that we are nearly ready to take down the safety gate at the stairs. I've been sitting with him on the way down for over a week now and he does very well. Several times he has gone about 4 stairs before I even noticed!
AJ's personality is just so different from the other two. Not to say that the older ones are a lot alike, but I am enjoying something I'm not used to. He is very lovable, clingy and huggy. He will go off to poop, then come and find me to give me a hug - essentially saying "here I am, don't I smell great?"
He is sharing a room with Will and that works most of the time. His crying definitely bothers Will a lot, and Will will come and get me if I don't come "soon enough." AJ has attached himself to a little fleece frog lovie and Daddy recently gave him a little brown bear. He doesn't NEED them to fall asleep, but he does prefer their presence!
AJ is getting the hang of our new church nursery. Several times in a row he cried and cried, finally calming down with one of their lime green receiving blankets - the same color as his frog. So I brought the frog the next week, but wouldn't you know it, he wanted that blanket instead! The last two weeks he is already doing better and recognizing the same workers. I think it helps to have Nina in the same room - she is never by herself anyway!
AJ is weighing approximately 21-22 pounds, depending on the day! He had a bout of the stomach flu in July that lasted 72 hours. 72 hours of throwing up nearly all the time; sometimes hours of vomiting every 10-15 minutes.
*In case someone else needs this trick, this helped us: we treated him with giving only 1 tsp of liquid every 15 minutes. If he kept it down then he got another. If he threw up, he got a little less the next time. If he could keep down 4 tsp in a row, the next liquid was 2 tsp. We alternated water & gatorade/pedialyte to help him stay hydrated and also replenish the electrolytes.
He lost several pounds those few days and was a bony 19 pounds at the end. I could see his ribs and spine on his back. It didn't take long for him to regain back over 20 pounds and see the fat and muscle return to his back. I think he was probably over 22 pounds when the flu started, about 21.5 pounds now. He has never been a chunky or fat baby, he has always been very muscular and lean. The way he runs and climbs it's no wonder!

12 month info
Wow I'm really not doing very well at blogging this year!
Aaron just had his 12 month check up on Monday and here's his info:
Height: 30" - 30th percentile
Weight: 20 lbs, 6 oz, 20th percentile
Head Circ - still big but normal for his growth curve
Apparently I forgot his 9 month appointment so there was an extra vaccination he needed, which made it 5 total!
Still 6 teeth, has been since early April. I had a dream that he got molars before any eye teeth (which would be great!) but I didn't find anything and the doctor didn't either.
AJ has been walking since mid-March but doesn't run yet. He recently discovered that he can climb a lot of things besides stairs. He can climb our coffee table (has a lower ledge to it), the kid-sized red chair, the ottoman and almost onto a couch. He likes to climb onto the car & train table and then yell because he can't get down. He can get down from a stair or two by standing, sitting and then standing up on the next lower level.
His hair is coming very very slowly! Will needed a haircut soon after turning 1, AJ only has a few long hairs total. But it is all there and thickens all the time. I'm still not sure what color it is. I'm guessing a dirty blonde, light brown. When he's in the sun it definitely has a warm, red tint to it.
AJ learned to say "uh oh" about a week ago. He's not very consistent with it lately but for a few days he said it a lot. He also said "hot" in reference to my parent's fireplace that was going at the time. He has TONS of consonants that he babbles with: m, n, d, b, p, g, h, and probably a few more. He understands to "gimme five" and he makes up his own signs but won't use mine. When he wants something he opens and clenches his fist, similar to the sign for milk. It is most often directed at a toy but sometimes food. When he's ready to go he waves. It appears that he's saying goodbye, but he's not, he's directing his sign to me! The doctor was a little concerned and said if he's not saying at least "mama" by 15 months he wants to check his hearing. Whatever. He's fine. He talks a lot more in quiet situations or when the older kids aren't around. Honestly, how often is that going to happen? The poor guy just can't get a word in edgewise around here sometimes!
He is still nursing a little. Just at morning wake up and then one other time during the day. Sometimes it's after morning nap, sometimes after his afternoon nap. But if he doesn't get his mommy time he can be a real crank by dinner. I'm not sure how much longer this will go on. I'm ready to finish but he does enjoy it so much.

Catching UP again!
Now that he's 9 months old and I have neglected this blog for months & months let me back track a little.
First - AJ walks!! His steps are tentative but he has moved on from cruising along the furniture, then cautiously letting go of the couch, step, then to the chair. Last weekend he took6 steps alone from me to the vacuum. He has even stood next to the wall & then started walking into an open room with nothing to hold onto within several feet.
Second - he has 4 teeth. They all erupted between Dec 30th and the end of January. Nothing since then.
Third - He has finally figured out a sippy cup. It's taken multiple brands and some bottles for him to learn how to get liquid out, but it finally happened! Now I can leave him with a babysitter or in church nursery without worrying about him being thirsty.
Fourth - his personality is coming out. He is still more mellow than Will but he is certainly showing some indignation, some independence, some frustration and of course lots of love. He adores David and Will. Nina and I are okay companions too. Nina gives kisses every chance she gets (still.) Mommy is the source of food and comfort so I'm definitely a favorite. But Daddy & Will - wow. They are the best toys ever!!
Fifth - he had his 6 month well-baby check up in early January, I have to dig up his stats.
Height: 26"- 80th percentile
Weight: 16 lbs - 50th percentile
Head Circ: 16.75" - 50th+ percentile
Everything is growing steadily and in proportion! He was in the office for lung sounds a few weeks ago & he was over 18 lbs. If he's like the older kids, he'll hover around 20 lbs because he'll walk & stop nursing sometime before 12 mo.
Nursing - he continues to nurse 3-4x during the day, 1-2x at night. I didn't want to cut out night sessions because he wasn't really taking to solids. But I actually got something I had hoped for: a child that skips the pureed baby food and goes straight to table food. AJ doesn't like to be fed with a spoon. Put a glob of applesauce straight on his tray and he's good to go! He also likes rice cakes, Gerber Puffs, baby raviolis, cold noodles and most anything I'm making for dinner, especially chicken.
